Seaspell
Large building comprising several dwellings Constantine bay, Cornwall
Seaspell is a large building comprising four three bedroom townhouses and two two bedroom flats which replaced an existing house. Over the decades this had been randomly adapted and extended for holiday accommodation and was considered no longer fit for purpose. The Site had some very specific challenges where this new development needed to respect local concerns over building height and materials.
Further complications were the management of the drainage, specifically the storm-water flow over the site to prevent local flooding. The resulting design stands proud amid its surroundings, reflecting the nature of this coastal environment. The design maximizes the glorious views available from the building –over the neighbouring famous golf course and sea – while still respecting the privacy of the adjoining houses.
The properties were in very high demand and the quality of the finishes reflects this, with the very best in kitchen and bathroom designs. The high standard of the scheme was such that all the houses and flats were sold well before the completion of the project.
